The Hunger Games comparison

“Happy  Hunger  Games!  And  may  the  odds  be  ever  in  your  favor!”

 I read The Hunger Games book and watched The Hunger Games movie.  The  Hunger Games  is  very  famous  in  America,  especially  young  people  were  impacted.  There  are   some  differences  between  the  book  and   the movie The  Hunger  Games.  In  story,  character  and  scene.

First,  the  story  is  a  little  different.  In  the  book,  before the Hunger Games,  Katniss and  Peeta  talk  on  the  roof.  In  the  movie,  they  talk  in  the  room.  And  also  in  the  book,  after  Rue’s  death,  Katniss  gets  a  small  loaf  of  bread  from  District  11.  However in  the  movie,  she  doesn’t  get  it.  People  who  live  in  District  11  plotted  rebellion  against  the  Capitol  instead. 

Then,  the  characters  were  different.  In  the  book,  President  Snow  was  not  so  important,  but  in  the movie,  he  is  in  an  important  place.  In  addition,  the  gamemaker,  Seneca,  is  also  in  an  important  role  in  the  movie.  He  accidentally  saved  Katniss  and  peeta.  Finally  he  was  killed  by  President  Snow  with  poison  berries.  Some  people  were  not  in  the  movie.  The  Avox,  Peeta’s father,  Madge and  so  on  were  missing.  They  are  not  important  role  in  the  movie.

Finally,  several  scenes  were  different.  In  the  book,  every  scene  was  explained  in  a  lot  of  words.  But  in  the  movie,  sometime  they  showed  only  visual aids  to  explain  in  what  was  happening.  Especially  the  story  about  Peeta  throwing  bread  to  Katniss  was  less   information  in  the  movie.  And  also story about   Katniss’ father  and  mother  is  almost  missing  in  the  movie.  In  the  book,  it  is  very  important  to understand how  Katniss  learned  about  hunting  and  why  Katniss  took  care  of  her  mother  and  Prim.

  There  are  still differences  between  the  book  and  the  movie  The  Hunger  Games.  I  think  the  book  is  better than  the  movie.  Becouse  in  the  book,  we  can  understand  more  details  ,and  also  it  is  fun.  And  there  are  two  more  series  of   The  Hunger  Games  books.  If  we  can  read  these  books, we  could  more  enjoy!

Why  is  archery  popular  today?

            Today,  archery  is  popular  in  the  U.S.  There  are  some  reasons  why  archery  became  popular.  One of  the  reasons  is  The  Hunger  Games movie.  The  heroine  of  The  Hunger  Games  is  Katniss.  She  uses  bow  and  arrows  during  The  Hunger  Games.  Finally,  she  can  survive  that.  She  wins.  Katniss  inspires  peoples  who  see  the  movie  to  do  archery.  Especially,  girls  are  inspired.  Because  they  long  for  Katniss.  Katniss  is  young,  strong,  and  independent.  They  think  Katniss  is  cool.  And  there  is  Olympics  this  year.  Olympics  is  also  one  of  the  reasons.  For  these  reasons,  archery  is  popular  in  The  U. S.

Opinion of The Hunger Games

The  Hunger  Games

            I  saw  the  movie  of  The  Hunger  Games  in  class.  The  movie  was  so  exiting.   I  like  the  movie.  But  I  like  the  Hunger  Game  book  more  than  the  movie.  There  are  several  differences  between  the  book  and  the  movie

            In  the  movie,  some  scenes  were  missing.  These  scenes  are  not  able  to  describe.  Because  these  scene  are  grotesque.  But  in  the  book,  these  scenes  can  be  described.  We  can  understand  more  details  and  emotions  of  characters  more  clearly.   

But  the  movie  was  very  good  too.  It  was  able  to  explain  almost  exactly  in  according  to  the  book.  It  is  very  good  point  I  thought.

I  like  the  book  and  movie.  When  I  go  back  to  Japan,  I’ll  buy  these  books  and  DVD!

spring break

Sprig Break

   During Spring break,   I did’t have any plan. Just stay on campus.   But I enjoyed Spring break. I went to downtown to have lunch and shopping with my friends.   On the way to campus, we saw beautiful   cherry  blossom in the park.  And it was so nice weather, we took many pictures.

   Other night, I made hamburgers with friends.   It’s good.  I cook a few times, so it was very  good experience for me. 

  I went to IPC’s house to make ccookies. Her house is near the campus.

  Almost of vacation, I do exercise some sport.  I went to sparks to exercise and basketball and soccer.

I saved money for summer vacation,so I’m going to more enjoy summer vacation!

The Pow Wow

The Pow Wow

Last Saturday, I attended The Pow Wow at Willamette University with my friend. The Pow Wow is meeting of Native Americans. They were many traditional foods, clothes, items, and so on. It was first time for me to attend meeting of Native American. I smelled very curious smell. I watched traditional dance that compete with another person. Men wore traditional costumes with big wings like a bird. Almost of all men were painting their faces. There were a lot of colors. Red, black, white, blue. It was very mysterious. Women’s traditional costume looked like a Chinese dress. All women did not paint their face. There were very fascinating.  The song of dance used with instrument like a drum. They played the instrument regular rhythm, and they song songs. But it was not English. I couldn’t catch their wards. But It was very exciting. I bought a ring and a tribute. There were interesting. The ring was made from power stone. But it was cheap. But yesterday, it was broken. It is terrible for me. The tribute is kind of talisman. It’s written wolf’s picture. It is cool. I enjoyed The Pow Wow. It was a very valuable experience for me.
